This rocket doesn't carry much fuel, and it quickly runs out at an altitude of about 2700 meters. The very first stage releases the rocket from its supporting structure and ignites the rocket engine. The Kerbal 2 rocket is designed with 3 stages.

The support structures release and up you go! Every rocket launch happens in stages, and each stage is triggered by tapping the space bar. Hold down Shift to increase the throttle (necessary for liquid-fuel engines like the one on this ship), and then tap the Space bar once. The three spindly towers are not part of the rocket itself they're support structures (often called a gantry) that hold the rocket in place until liftoff. You can right-click each individual part to get more information about it. As you move your mouse over the rocket, each individual part will be highlighted in green. Your three happy Kerbonauts appear in the lower-right corner, ready for launch. If your mouse has a scroll wheel, you can also use it to zoom in and out. Press + and - keys on your numeric keypad to zoom your view in and out. Almost ready to go! Before you do, let's play with some of the basic controls.Ĭlick and hold the right mouse button and move the mouse to move the camera viewpoint.
